Rental Equipment


Red Deer County has an assortment of herbicide spraying equipment and tree planting equipment available for rent to landowners, for use on private land. Equipment is located at the Red Deer County Agricultural Services Shop, with some items available at Benalto Agri Services. 


24 hours notice is required to book rental equipment. Damage deposit (cash or cheque) is required upon pick-up and will be returned upon passed drop-off inspection. Click on the equipment type below to view cost and required damage deposit.

Pick-up and Drop-off Appointment Times: Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., or at 3:00 p.m. daily.

  • Has a hose and a handgun (50 ft. long)
  • 150 gallon tank
  • 20 foot wide boom
  • Additional 10 foot boomless nozzles for fence line
  • About 6-15 acres per tank depending on rate
  • Sits on the back of a truck (will fit long or short box or flat deck)

  • Ideal for planting long rows of bare root or plug style tree seedlings
  • Two seater, can plant up to 3500 trees in 1 day
  • Requires 3+ persons to operate (1 driving in the tractor, 1 on the tree planter, 1+ to walk behind ensuring trees are straight and compacting dirt)
  • Maximum towing speed of 80 km/hr
  • Minimum 40hp tractor with pioneer style fittings
  • $150 damage deposit (cash or cheque) required, can be rented for up to 2 weeks
  • Trees not supplied

Tree Planting Equipment can be rented for up to 2 weeks at a time; tree planting equipment rentals are FREE for Red Deer County landowners. Note: Red Deer County does not supply tractors, crews, trees or plastic mulch.
