Payment of Taxes and Utilities
Responding with enhanced customer focus and integrating new technologies, Red Deer County offers a variety of tax and utility payment options.
The monthly tax and utility payment plan is the preferred payment option however payments can be made via telephone banking and Internet banking, by mail or in person at the County office or at most banks. (Please ensure you allow 5 to 7 business days to be processed).
We accept payment by Interac, personalized cheques and cash.
Please ensure that the detachable portion of your tax notice or utility bill is forwarded along with your payment.
If you are sending one cheque in payment of taxes on more than one property, please ensure that you forward ALL the related detachable portions of the tax notices.
Please do not send cash in the mail.
If you are paying any other charges on the same cheque as your taxes, please ensure that you attach a copy of the related bill along with the detachable portion(s) of your tax notice.

Monthly Payment Options
A property owner may pay the current year's taxes on a monthly basis subject to the following conditions:
1. New participation in the program would not commence until January 1. You are eligible providing that all taxes, local improvement taxes, arrears, penalties and other costs are fully paid on or before December 15 of the preceding year.
2. Monthly installments to provide for payment of property taxes and local improvement taxes will be based on the following.
a. For the first six months of the current year, monthly payments equivalent to one-twelfth of the previous year's levy, and
b. For the last six months of the current year, monthly payments equivalent to one-sixth of the balance of the tax levy for the current year after the deduction of the payments for the first six months.
