With the Green Acreages Program, Red Deer County acreage owners can apply for funding to do the environmental improvements on their property.

Eligible projects include:

  • Planting trees and shrubs in riparian areas - funding applies to trees and shrubs found on the AWES Native Species Database
  • Improving septic systems that are discharging to common waterbodies including groundwater
  • Non-agricultural livestock management (for example: off stream watering systems, riparian management fencing)

Red Deer County acreage owners are invited to apply for 75% of cash costs for a Green Acreages Project, to a maximum of $3,000.00.
