  • Red Deer County Search and Rescue

    1. Recruiting for the 2023 recruitment class has now closed. Applications will still be accepted, however will not be considered until after September 30, 2023.
    2. Basic Membership Requirements
      - Minimum of 18 years of age
      - Physically able to perform tasks/duties of the job (roles available to accommodate varying fitness levels)
      - Able to work as part of a team
      - Have a desire to serve the community in a volunteer role
      - Able and willing to respond to emergency incidents at various times of the day/night
    3. Tech Rescue Boat
    4. Search and Rescue (SAR) involves searching for and providing aid to people who are in distress or imminent danger.
    5. In addition to Search and Rescue missions, Red Deer County SAR may also support other agencies during disaster response, such as floods, fires, train derailments and severe weather events. Red Deer County SAR trains monthly and holds weekend courses throughout the year to obtain and maintain personnel competency in addition to attending public outreach and education events.
    6. Search and Rescue is a great way to volunteer in the community, to learn a variety of new skills, to tackle challenging problems and to build lifelong relationships with a like-minded group of people.
