Public hearings are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) and are held in Council Chambers at the Red Deer County Centre.

  • Late written submissions can still be received
  • Your comments will be made public 

To Participate In Person:

  • Public Hearing will be held in Council Chambers at Red Deer County Centre
  • You may register in advance by contacting legislativeservices@rdcounty.ca or express your interest to speak during the public hearing

To Participate Virtually

  • You may participate via Zoom. The link is available on www.rdcounty.ca/Agendas by the Friday prior to the Meeting
  • When you join the meeting you will be asked to provide your first and last name in compliance with Meeting Procedures Bylaw No. 2022/24
  • Due to limited connectivity issues within some areas, no guarantee can be provided for the continued connectivity of those members participating viz Zoom. It is recommended that members of the public attend in person or submit written comments prior to the meeting
  • You may register in advance by contacting legislativeservices@rdcounty.ca or express your interest to speak during the public hearing

Public Hearing Process

  • Administration will present information about the proposed bylaw(s) or resolution
  • The applicant will be provided the opportunity to speak for up to 15 minutes
  • Public Speakers will have 5 minutes to speak. Each speaker will be asked to state their first and last name as well as their address for the record before they begin speaking
    1. The Chair will call on those registered to speak first
    2. The Chair will call on those not registered to speak
    3. The Chair will confirm that there is no one else wishing to speak to the bylaw or resolution
  • If you wish to use any visual aids in your presentation you must submit them in advance to legislativeservices@rdcounty.ca to ensure that they can tested and prepared for your use
  • The process will be repeated for any other proposed bylaws(s) or resolutions that are having public hearings on the same date
  • The Public Hearing will be declared closed 
  • Council will deliberate each resolution/bylaw
